Does the world need another blog?!
Probably not.
But I’ve got a lot to share, and I thought this would be a fun way to open up a little more about my story, who I am, and who I’ve become while building Luv Luxe.
So here goes nothing.
I started Luv Luxe back in 2014 with a dream to bring something different to luxury resale. From the very beginning, I wanted the experience to feel elevated, seamless, and trustworthy for both buyers and sellers.
One thing that made us different early on was that we purchased items outright directly from clients instead of operating on consignment. I always believed selling luxury should feel simple and clean, not complicated or drawn out.
Another thing I felt strongly about was condition.
We specialize in excellent, pristine-condition pieces only. My mindset was always, how could I confidently sell something I personally wouldn’t carry or care for myself? That standard became a huge part of the DNA of Luv Luxe.
Before starting the business, I was fortunate enough to work in luxury retail at a young age. That experience gave me a firsthand look into the luxury world, what worked, what didn’t, and most importantly, how people wanted to feel when shopping luxury.
When I launched Luv Luxe, I had $3,000 to my name, and that was the budget. Now I had to make a “luxury” business on a beer budget. Which wasn’t easy but I was determined to make it happen.
No investors (still don’t have any). No massive team. No glamorous startup story. Just a vision, determination, and honestly probably a little delusion, which I now think every entrepreneur needs.
Speaking of that original $3,000, I think it’s about time Luv Luxe pays me back. I’ll have to discuss that with my accountant. Don’t worry, I’ll be kind and skip charging interest.
But truly, this is just a little glimpse into the early days of Luv Luxe. I’m excited to share more about the journey, the lessons, the chaos, the growth, and honestly how the heck I got to where I am today.
